The best of our 2015

The best of our 2015

We had the best time in 2015. It certainly was a fantastic year for us at The Media Angel. The last 12 months were filled with so many highs it has been difficult to pick our favourites, however we have managed to select some of our best moments:   At the very top of the list has to be our win at CIM Canmol Marketing Excellence Awards 2015. As the only media planning and buying agency to win across Wales at this event, we were extremely proud of our reward for helping client Ty Hafan achieve returns of over 300%. Our efforts in helping Ty Hafan obtain these returns on a limited budget were described as “simply brilliant” by the judging panel.   We were delighted to help Cardiff Airport successfully launch Flybe, their newest airline to the south Wales market. We implemented a large campaign for Flybe securing sponsorship of the weather on all major South Wales radio stations. We also ensured Flybe’s message could be seen at many high footfall areas in South Wales including Swansea, Cardiff, Bridgend, Newport and Pontypridd train stations and St David’s 2 Cardiff among many others! Flybe is Europe’s largest regional airline, promoting 14-routes from Cardiff, including three brand new routes to Cork, Munich and Milan. With our assistance, passenger growth at Cardiff Airport has increased by 13% compared with 2014.   Similarly, our campaign for Vueling which involved sponsorship of ITV Wales Cymru weather and Vueling Cardiff Bay Beach contributed to the success of the airline at Cardiff Airport. Such success has resulted in confirmed extra capacity for summer 2016. Following the best summer...
Jonathan Davies leads ACT Apprenticeship Week campaign

Jonathan Davies leads ACT Apprenticeship Week campaign

This month we’ve been working with ACT – Wales’ leading training provider on a new campaign for National Career’s Week and National Apprenticeship Week. ACT was keen to promote its fantastic apprenticeships schemes and services to businesses across South Wales, and wanted to raise awareness of the countless advantages that come with training an apprentice. We at The Media Angel were delighted to be involved in the planning, buying and implementation of this inspiring campaign, particularly as ACT’s services not only provide life changing opportunities for apprentices; but also gives businesses the unique chance to train a skilled and valuable workforce. We focused on highly targeted and creative digital methods to place this important message in front of the right people, at the right time, cost-effectively. It seemed we were not the only ones left impressed by ACT’s wealth of fantastic, motivational services as skills ambassador Jonathan Davies was eager to support this digitally led campaign. His message was simple; “help us in our mission to train a nation, improve your business and become socially responsible. With 100% funding available, apprenticeships make sense”. ACT’s marketing and PR manager Jayne McGill was extremely pleased with this employer engagement campaign and and collaboration of our two marketing teams, commenting: “The Media Angel responded excellently to the brief and came up with a range of targeted solutions within the budget. From the initial consultation, all the way through to campaign delivery, their level of service and communication was top class. We have formed a great working relationship with the team and can speak honestly and openly about ideas in the development stages. Not...
Celebrating 25 years of Children’s Rights

Celebrating 25 years of Children’s Rights

20th November 2014 marked the celebration of Universal Children’s Day and the 25th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). The Media Angel teamed up with The Children’s Commissioner for Wales and his team to help raise the profile of this wonderful cause and this special day for children, particularly across Wales. In 1989, governments all over the world adopted the UNCRC and its list of rights designed to ensure that every child and young person in the world lives a safe, happy and healthy life. Since the introduction of the UNCRC, children have enjoyed increased recognition and protection of their rights; 54 important Articles which include the right to be listened to and the right to a good standard of living. The Children’s Commissioner for Wales is responsible for ensuring these rights are promoted and correctly implemented across the country so that Welsh children live the best, the happiest and the safest lives! The Media Angel and The Children’s Commissioner have been working hard to make sure awareness of this special occasion was widely raised in Wales through a strong online media, bilingual campaign, complemented by a commemorative and interactive event held in the centre of Cardiff. The campaign was planned and delivered by The Media Angel to raise awareness, encourage wide participation and engagement from individuals, helping to build a ‘rights road’ both online and at the city centre event. Using #RightsRoad89 people could discuss the best things about being a child in Wales on Twitter, and at the Commissioner’s stand in St David’s children could help artist Huw Aaron draw...
